Disappearing Items After Game Closes

Hi, so basically I was playing Minecraft on my laptop and I was trying to get back to my house before my laptop died so I could save. While I was on my way back to my house I drowned and then my laptop died before I could respawn. When I finally reloaded the world to go get my items they were gone. This affects me a lot because at the time I was carrying all of my important stuff including enchanted armor, weapons, diamonds, and diamond horse armor that I had just found. I tried copying the world and putting keep inventory to see if it would let me have my stuff back but it didn't!
