Dog stuck standing and won't teleport to me but still recognizes me as the owner

I can't interact with my pet dog. It still watches me and follows me but won't teleport to me and won't sit when I right click. Birds may have the same issue as I also have a bird who was following me and now I can't find it and I never made it sit anywhere.
