The app freezes every time I open it.

Every single time I launch the Minecraft app on my I pad the game freezes and doesn’t do anything and eventually force closes the app itself. I’ve tried updating the game, my iPad and nothing is working. I was in the middle of a really big project that I have to have finished for school and would really appreciate this issue being looked into.
