Unable to connect to world

I am running Bedrock version 1.12.1 and was able to login and play on my Android tablet one day ago. Now, whenever I try to login to my Realm, during the loading screen it pops up saying unable to connect to world. None of my friends are able to login as well. I can't download the world to see if closing the Realm and reopening will help, as I don't want to possibly lose all of our progress. Searching for similar bugs/posts has taken over an hour with zero results.
