My world isn't saving my progress

After a while of playing on my survival world, I decide to quit for the day so I quit and then the next day I loaded up my world and I was back were I was about 20 minutes before I quit last night. It must have been the last auto save because there was the chest at the top but now when ever I leave and then get back on the world I always spawn at that auto saved location and none of my progress is saved.
