Travelling salesman leads floating unattached

When the travelling salesman appears, the leads appear to "dance" approximately 6 blocks in front of me, vertically, totally unattached to the llamas. The leads are about 6 blocks tall. As I move away from the salesman they move with me. Screenshot attached
