Multiplayer Issue

If you play local wifi multiplayer with 2 or more friends, and you're hosting it. If one of the friends get out of the game, and rejoin, all of their stuff is gone. What I expected for it to happen was for it to save the items. Also, the friend doesn't spawn where he/she exited the game last.
