Wolf Dies with a Critical Hit Even with Absorbtion 255

When you use this in command blocks "/effect @e[name=Pizza] absorption 24 255" It works normal weather, but in rain with a critical hit it will kill the wolf in one hit no matter the absorption level. I named my wolf "Pizza" with a nametag so the command recognized it, which it did.
