After sleeping in bed, I respawn elsewhere...

After exploring, I sleep in a bed. I get a little message indicating that my spawning point has been set, but when I die, I respawn to the very beginning of the game. I have tried sleeping numerous times in different locations and no matter what I do, I still get sent to the beginning of the game.

Notes: Possibliy occurs only when playing on multiplayer.
