FPS Lag

since after the village and pillage update my game has been receiving lag. its annoying when my game stops for a second then one minute later i am somehow dead 

Update: my problem is the fps when it skips a little bit. I've tried to improve my performance and reset my laptop multiple times for it to work and also found a solution on YouTube. my fps still skips sometimes but overall im having fun on minecraft
