Crash on ALT-TAB during initial loading

If I launch the game, and then alt-tab while it's loading into the main menu, when I alt-tab back into the game it crashes. Usually it looks like it continues loading for a second (though no progress seems to be made while alt-tabed), but then it'll just crash out
