Nightmare in Candyworld crashes the Minecraft app

I have the Minecraft app on an iPad Air with iOS 12.4. When I attempt to use Nightmare in Candyworld, it crashes the Minecraft app. Would you know of a fix for this, or could I receive a refund?
The Process:
I open the Minecraft app, select “Play”, select “create new”. In the list of available templates, I choose Nightmare in Candyworld and hit “create”. The screen switches to “Generating world...” and I read the hints info until the screen goes black, Minecraft closes, and I am back at the home screen. Takes a minute or less for that to happen. Thank you.
