Minecraft multiplayer, spawning in the sky then falling in a huge hole

Help I was playing multiplayer and I would exit the server and re enter. After I re entered I wouldn't spawn near my bed but in the sky then I drop into this huge hole where I'm the only one that sees it and other players can walk on invisible tiles, but if I try I walk fall and suffocate. I need this answered please.
