"This world has been corrupted."

My pals and I (a total of five of us) were on a world we had been playing on together for a few days. We had all been disconnected a few times while playing due to some spotty connection, but otherwise, everything worked just fine. After a few hours of playing yesterday, suddenly everyone was disconnected and the message displayed on my screen read, "The world has been corrupted. Please report this at bugs.mojang.com." I restarted the game and tried getting on the world a few more times but it would continue to display that message. There were no mods or anything special like that, just a plain, ol' randomly generated minecraft world. I have no clue as to how to recreate the scenario that may have caused this, so i apologize.
