Skin Resets to Default Steve Skin on App Reload

If I select a custom skin, it warns me that the skin is "only available on specific platforms". I can use it Single-Player just fine and dandy. The problem is when I close MC and later re-open it, my skin reverts back to either the Steve or Alex Skin every time.
