End city portal glitches

When I tried getting to the end city by throwing a end pearl in to it I got stuck in a black hole I couldn't do anything. So I had to restart the game. And then when I tried getting back through the portal by throwing another pearl I, once again, got stuck in a black hole. But i could mine this time. So I tried to mine straight up but that didn't work. So I tried mining forward which caused me to fall down and die. After HOURS spent, adventuring, killing mobs etc. So now all of my stuff, xp and progress is gone..
