Have to set the skin each time I open and play minecraft.

I already contacted microsoft and they said to contact the developers. I found a post on reddit with this same issue. Every time I open minecraft it reverts to the default steve or alex and not my skin. So I have to set it every time I want to play. Other users have this same problem and heres the reddit link. They might be a different issue but I just dont want to set the skin all the time.
