Chunk rendering is a lot worse

Ever since 1.12.0 update, chunk rendering and loading has gotten a lot worse. As you can see in the attached images, there are lots of random chunks not loading completely. You can even see this happening on the map as black areas. Seems to happen a lot in water areas.
