In wifi multiplayer, double chests do not work for the person that joins

What I expected to happen was...:
When you place 2 chests side by side it would form a double chest. When you press leave bed you'd get up.

What actually happened was...:
It formed a double chest, but when opened it was the size of a single one. When one of the two chests forming it was broken, the other turned invisible. When leaving the bed, you exit to the menu screen.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Join a friend.
2. Place a double chest/ sleep in bed.
3. Open chest. It is only a single. Break one half and it turns one invisible./ leave bed and game will exit.
