Armor stand bug with armor

So I was building a Minecraft rollercoaster and I was gonna add armor stand and I did.

then when I got the leather armor I colored all of the armor black (i tried it with different colors those did not work either) and when I put it on my armor stand it just was the iron armor color. I also did not have iron armor in my inventory.
