Crafting stacks of items at once causes the game to freeze for multiple seconds

When crafting a stack or more of an item at once in the crafting grid, the game freezes for multiple seconds. This only happens when shift-clicking the item in the crafting grid's output slot. When shift-clicking an item in the recipe book, the game does not freeze.

1. Place a crafting table
2. Obtain multiple stacks of planks
3. Switch to Survival mode
4. Open the crafting table
5. Left-click the stairs in the recipe book
6. Shift-click the stairs in the crafting table's output slot

Observed Results:
The game freezes for multiple seconds.

Expected Results:
The game should not freeze.
