Multiplayer seems to be impossible.

When I attempt to join a server using the "Friends" section on the menu I have problems with joining. When I click on the world I am attempting to join I get the same message: "Wow this server is popular! Check back later to see if space opens up" This seems to be not just a problem for myself too. Many of my friends are having the same problems.
