Hot bar doesn't expand while using split touch controls.

I expected like the fact the hot bar expands one slot once you make the dpad small enough. Lately I've been playing with split touch controls.

I was playing with the dpad size while using split touch controls and even if I made the dpad as small as possible, it didn't give it the one extra slot.
