Armor stands always where white armor when you put leather armor on them

I put red armor on my armor stand but it is displayed as white. I then tried green, yellow and non-dyed but they all showed up as white. When I took it of it changed back to the colour it was when I put it on there. When I put the armor on myself it displayed as the correct colour.
