Switch - Crash when entering skin select screen

Upon entering the skin select screen, it loads for a second then sends me to the "The software was closed because an error occurred." screen that is built-in on the Switch. This is very inconvenient because of the skin reset bug that resets my skin to Steve or Alex whenever I boot the game up again.
