Multiplayer not working

Whenever i try to play multiplayer with my friend, i am able to send a invite but the invite doesnt allow my friend in, i have tried signing in and out but only created more versions of my friend. This goes on for hours before it ends up working or with us giving up entirely.

This started around april and when i first contacted they couldn't do a thing.
