Made a custom dog texture in textures/entity/wolf/wolf_tame.tga, but it's tinted red?

I recently made a minecraft resource pack to change the textures of the Wolf, the British Short Hair Cat and the Red Cat.
When I try and tame these animals they become a weird shade of red(see image) and I don't understand quite why.
