Zombie was able to break through an iron door

I was playing in my survival world, and a baby zombie was able to break down an iron door to get through to some villagers. I thought that this was impossible. Was playing in hard mode. I have not been able to duplicate this bug, so it may have been a one time thing, but I feel like this is worth mentioning.
