Navigating Inventory is Slow

Don't know if this is a duplicate...

This has been going on for several versions now, but on Nintendo Switch in Minecraft v1.11.4 moving the cursor around when inventory is open is very slow. With split-screen and two players in the game it is even worse. Can barely select/move/drop items.
