Wolves don’t defend against players

My Minecraft friend shot me with an arrow and my wolves didn’t do anything. So I punched the person that shot me. The wolves still didn’t react. Feel free to correct me if you can’t recreate this, but it wasn’t very nice that I had to punch that person to death.
