More then one Ender dragon in The end

I was first time in The end in Survival mode. I've never turned cheat on in that world. First I saw only one HP bar of Ender dragon, but as soon as I came close to them, like more then 20 Ender dragons were spawned. The game became extremely laggy, and I died in the matter of seconds.
