All progress reset with no way of getting it back

So here is what happened to me and my friends, we all made a world and we spent some good hours on it and then one day we get on to see the entire world reset, Just like when we started. I tried backing it up before this all happened but then that didn't even work and now I just have a backup that doesn't even work and all progress is gone.
