Saddles and Armor not being able to be put on skeleton horses

Hello there, I've recently bought a realm for Minecraft for Windows 10. I was playing the other day and a skeleton trap appeared. I got 3 of the horses and I can ride and control them but I can not saddle or armor them. I looked online, it appears that these 2 items are supposed to be able to be used on skeleton horses.
