Entity drops are not 3D.
When a player drops an entity it has a 2D texture, meaning it only shows the sides of the texture, and not the front. When a player is near, the entity will turn to face the player so the side texture is not shown. Even if this is not a bug, I would like this mechanic to be added, as some of my contraptions on the Java Edition rely on this.
