redstone freezes

In creative, after some random time redstone blocks no longer work. None of the blocks work. Can't pull levers, push buttons, nothing.

Soundeffect for placing any block, not just redstone, doesn't play.

Can't exit Minecraft, have to use the task manager to kill the app.
