minecraft not getting updated.

i have minecraft for windows 10. the new 1.11(the village and pillage update) update is out. i am unable to update my minecraft. and then, mine seemed to magically update (FOV, panaroma, etc.), but the main screen still says "1.12.0.4" Confusing, huh? how do I fix it to make it appear like normal.
