Giant items appear above me, despite if I’m holding anything or not

Whenevrr I play survival with my friends, either a giant shield or bow appears above my head. The next day, I couldn’t see mobs, and got blown up by a creeper because I couldn’t see it. When I went on mineplex, a giant sword appeared above my head.
