Using furnace on diorite produces smooth stone. Spawners only spawn at night.

Only get smooth stone when i put diorite in regular furnace.  When I make a spawner, it will only spawn mobs at night time, no matter where placed.  Game created ones work normally and ones i made in creative before newest update worked fine too.
