No monsters and buggy golems

After the new update, monsters no longer spawn in my survival world. I've not seen a single one, this is even with my game setting on HARD. In addition, the golems never seem to lose interest in chasing me, after I accidentally hit them, even after a full day's cycle. Not sure what's going on. Help!?
