Book and Quill disappears from Lectern

Noticed that if you try to remove Book and Quill (empty or filled with text) several times from a Lectern — it will disappear after some time. I tried to search around the area but no luck. Restarting the world didn't help. Using Item Frames instead of Lecterns for now.
