Achievements not earning in Minecraft Realms

Played on my Realm and decided to hunt achievements. One of them was dry a sponge in a furnace which I did, multiple times, yet the achievement did not unlock. Then I went on to a single player world and did the same and I obtained the achievement. Note: I have never enabled cheats or entered creative mode.
