Keypad Doesn't Work

I can't create a new world on my Motorola Xoom tablet because the keypad won't allow me to type. I saw a YouTube video which said switching to the Ice Cream Sandwich keypad would resolve the issue, so I downloaded that, but it didn't change anything. I tried about three other keypad downloads as well. Nothing worked. (And yes, I am switching to the other keypads in Settings.) Very frustrating. Anyone know what to do?
