Can't craft more items when inventory is full

When my inventory is full and I want to craft more of an item, it doesn't let me.

Example: I have 32 torches in my inventory. I put some coal and sticks in my crafting 2×2 grid. Now I have no free space in my inventory, but the torches should be added to the existing ones I already have. This is exactly what happened in previous versions, but now when I tap the crating result, nothing happens. I have to throw something out to make a free slot, even though it's unused in the process.

I also tested it with a full inventory and a crafting table, returns same behavior. 

I don't know if this is a duplicate but I tried to search and didn't find anything.
