Crafted to item frames but only 1 appeared in my inventory

Seed: Coastal Village (-1813740965); Survival Mode; Normal Difficulty; Infinite Size; world created after Beta v1.11.0.7.

I crafted 2 item frames, but only 1 appeared in my inventory. I had 2 cowhides, and the craft table used both with sticks. Both cowhides were no longer in my inventory, and the inventory stick count was reduced for 2 item frames. I have previously noticed crafted items do not show up in my inventory.
