Me and a friend went to spawn the end dragon again but when we did the dragon never spawned and we never got back our end crystals

When we went to spawn the end dragon the end crystals shot up into the sky and started following around the dragon but there was no health bar, and the crystals then blew up but we couldn’t find the end dragon or the egg to respawn it
