Purple and black blocks only

I exited out of Minecraft using the home button on my iPad, I went back in and the blocks were only purple and black. I closed Minecraft and went back in, and it was fine again.
I sent some photos, a few of what it’s supposed to look like, and some of the glitch.

I’m just a confused, and a bit freaked out.
