GUI circle size is too small

What I expected to happen was...:
For the size of the circle that shows when you mine to be the same size as it was in 0.6.0

What actually happened was...:
The GUI size of the circle was as small as my thumb, and I'm not able to see the circle when I dig or mine.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Hold down and dig dirt
2. look closely under your thumb while still digging
