Game freezes for a few seconds when spawning alot of villagers

When spawning too many villagers with a villager spawn egg, game freezes for a short time and after that the game becomes normal.
The player is able to move, but mobs cant. Interacting with mobs like attacking them, will delay the damage receive to the mob.
