Traveling through an end city portal always results in being stuck in the bedrock

Every time I try to go to the end city I get stuck in some sort of void. I assume I'm stuck in the portal itself, but I'm not suffocating. I used to be able to throw another Pearl and get out of it, but now there is nothing I can do. I will attach a picture of what I'm seeing after throwing the Pearl.
