Crash when selecting custom skin on MC Win10

I bought Minecraft Windows 10 edition after the 1.9.0 update came out. I logged on my xbox account in game and went to change the default skin to my custom one to match the one I'm using on Android. But, when I click the "Open" button after selecting a skin from a folder(or just double-click it), the game freezes for around 3 seconds(sound stops playing as well) and then just crashes. After I open the game again I have still the default skin.

Also, I tried to force set my skin to the custom one in options.txt in game files, but the game just crashes after launching it.
